Suspect On The Run After Trying To Kidnap DC Boy: Police

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who tried to kidnap a boy in D.C., they said.

The suspect began talking to the boy before grabbing him and trying to flee from the location at the 3100 block of M Street Northwest around 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, Metropolitan Police say.

The family members of the victim began to chase the suspect, who let the boy go and fled. The suspect is described as a Latino male in his 20s, wearing a white tank top, dark color shorts, and carrying a black satchel. 

Anyone who can identify this individual or has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
